I switched to KFB a couple of years ago when my rates with a large national company kept going up despite the fact that I was getting their "good driver discount" and several other discounts. The first time I had a claim was the first time I realized how KFB manages to offer its low rate - by having very little service available. I had been used to full 24/7 availability from my national company, but with KFB the only service is from their agent's office, and their offices stop answering the phone a half-hour before closing. I'd call it "Bankers Hours" except that banks today are open far more hours than KFB offices. I will admit that I always got friendly efficient service from the two young ladies working the desks at the local office - on the other hand, in three years with that office I NEVER MET or spoke with the agent who was supposed to be in charge of the office. If you have a claim, everything has to be handled by whichever "adjuster" happens to be assigned to your claim. But the adjuster is NEVER in their office, so all you can do is leave a message on their voicemail and hope for a call back - which may take a couple of days if they bother calling back at all. I did not experience any problems with WHAT they agreed to pay for, but they regularly lied about having talked with the businesses involved and about having sent out a check to pay for things they admitted were covered. A troubleing company policy is that they mail out the bill for your payment and instantly cancel your insurance without telling you of they don't get the payment on time - no notice, no late fee, no grace period. The only way you will even know that the insurance was cancelled for late payment will be if you get your check back in the mail telling you that you were cancelled already because the post office delivered your check the day after the due date on the bill.

This place got from me what they wanted and they are still getting way too much from me on my car inc. They are the best on home owners inc. being so affordable but in order to get the rate so low, I had to switch my car inc. I absolutly hated that. I paid atleast $30 less on my car inc. from my old inc. place than I pay now, with KFB.
